GUWAHATI: After restricting Team Blue at just 111, Team Red reached 117 for 6 in 41 overs in their first innings at stumps on Day 1 of Challenger Trophy, organized by Assam Cricket Association, at DN Singha Stadium, Goalpara on Saturday.
Winning the toss the Blues were bundled out in 39.4 overs. Last match star Abhilash Gogoi claimed 4 wickets for 31 while Pritam Das took 3 wickets. In reply, Gokul Sharma and Abhilash Gogoi remained unbeaten at 38 and 33 respectively.
In another match at Judges’ Field, Team Green showed powerful batting display against Team Red A as they declared their first innings at 375 for 7 in 80 overs. Pallab Das (165 off 197 balls) and Sib Sankar Roy (117 off 120 balls) hit tons. In reply, Red A managed 12 for 3 in 2.1 overs at stumps.
