Charaideo, Dhemaji win titles in 50th Assam State Weightlifting Championship

GUWAHATI: The 50th Assam State Weightlifting championship concluded at the Bhogeswari Phukanani Indoor Stadium here yesterday. Around 400 weightlifters from 19 districts took part in the competition. Charaideo lifted the men's best team title and Dhemaji emerged champion in the women's category.

Final results:Men-Champion:Charaideo. Runners up: Dibrugarh. Women- Champion: Dhemaji. Runners up: Dhansiri. Youth best men lifter: Bedabrata Bharali (Dibrugarh). Junior and senior best men lifter: Sidhanta Gogoi (Charaideo). Youth and junior women best lifter: Panchami Sonowal (Dhemaji). Senior best women lifter: Bornali Borah (Sivasagar).
