Chess competition at Gauhati University

GUWAHATI: Department of Commerce of Gauhati University will organize an age group and Open chess championship on May 29 at the University premises. The age group competition will be held U-7, 9, and 13 category. The first 10 position holders in the Open category will receive cash awards. While the champion will be awarded Rs 5,000, the first and second runners up will collect a purse of Rs 3500 and Rs 2500 respectively.
