CM Sarbananda Sonowal reviews Sports & Youth Welfare Department

GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today reviewed implementation status of various schemes of Sports and Youth Welfare Department at his conference hall at Janata Bhawan and directed the officials of the department to expedite implementation of the schemes.

The Chief Minister took stock of schemes like development of playgrounds in rural areas under Chief Minister's Samagra Gramya Unnyan Yojna, providing Rs 50 thousand to one thousand players, organizing Village Olympics at the grassroots, playgrounds development in the tea gardens, status of Tikhor Park being set up at Gauhati University etc. Commissioner of Sports Department Moloy Bora apprised the Chief Minister about the various works carried out by the department.

Legal Adviser to the Chief Minister Santanu Bharali, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Paban Kumar Borthakur, Member Secretary of SLAC for Sports and Youth Welfare Lakhya Konwar were also present in the meeting. This is stated in a release.
