Guwahati: Dhrupad Kashyap and Medha Baruah clinched the title in Under-18 open boys and girls category in Guwahati Chess Championship 2022 which concluded in the city today.

Dhrupad scored 5 points from 5 rounds on way to win the title. Pran Gobinda Parashar Kashyap scored 3.5 points and got second position. In the under-18 girls category Medha Baruah scored 3.5 points and got first position. Unmilita Pathak finishd second with 3 points.

Mayank Chakraborty scored perfect 5 points from 5 rounds and clinched the title in U-14 open category. Nalinakhya Kashyap scored 4 points from the same number of rounds and ended the campaign in second position. In the under-14 Girls section Baibhabi Baruah and Ikshita Barman finished first and second respectively.

Mrinmoy Rajkhowa scored 6 points from 6 rounds to clinch the title in under-12 Boys category. Abhirup Saikia (5 points) bagged second spot. Ritisha Mayra Rajbongshi clinched the title in under-12 girls category by scoring 4 points from 4 rounds. Nibhriti Goswami scored 3 points and bagged second spot.The tournament was organized by Guwahati Chess Association and altogether 77 players participated in the meet.
