DHUBRI: The inauguration programme of the 1st Seemanta Krida Mahotsav-22 District Qualifying Play held at the Satrasal Higher Secondary Bidyapith field on Friday.

Dhubri Deputy Commissioner Ambamuthan, Dhubri Superintendent of Police Abhijit Gaurav Dilip, Second-in-Commandant of 31 Bn, BSF Ram Pal Singh, president of Asom Sattra Mahasabha, Jitendra Nath Prodhani and Xatradhikar of Sri Sri Dham Ramraikuti Xatra at Xatrasal and other dignitaries were present. The programme was presided over by State president of Seemanta Chetana Mancha Purvottar, Nikhil Chandra Sarkar.

Talking to The Sentinel, Dhubri District unit publicity secretary Dipankar Mazumder informed that this Krida Mahotsav- 22 was being organized in the border villages of the north-eastern states by the Seemanta Chetana Mancha Purvottar and State Ministry of Sports and Youth Welfare.

"Now qualifying rounds of games which have kicked off from today will continue till March 6, and after this round, the best performing youths in different events will be sent for another round of State-level competitions to be held at Sarusajai Stadium in Guwahati from March 25 to March 27," Mazumdar further informed. He also informed that youths from the border villages of Dhubri, South Samara-Mancachar, Kokrajhar, Chirang, Udalguri, Baksa, Tamalpur, Cachar and Karimganj districts are taking part in sports events.
