Altogether 40 players and sports organizers in each category were selected for the regular sports pension and One Time Financial Assistance.

Disclosing the news in a media conference the Director of the Sports and Youth Welfare Dharmakanta Mili said, "Former sports persons and sports organizers, who were selected for regular Sports Pensions, will receive Rs 8,000 per month. On the other hand-selected players and sports organizers for One Time Financial Assistance (Ex-Gratia) will receive Rs 50,000 each along with a silver plaque."

The media briefing was also attended by the Member Secretary of the SLAC Lakhya Konwar, two key officials of the selection committee Premadhar Sarma and Gilbertson Sangma respectively along with the several top officials of the Sports and Youth Welfare Department.

Lakhya Konwar in a brief speech said, this time there was no application from five districts-West Karbi Anglong, Baksa, Chirang, South Salmara and Hojai- for either category.
