FIFA U-17 Women World Cup: Guwahati Shortlisted as possible venue

GUWAHATI: Guwahati will likely be the one of the venue of the forthcoming FIFA U-17 Women World Cup Football tournament which India will host next year.

The local organizing committee already shortlisted a few cities as the possible venues of the meet and it included Guwahati also. The secretary of the Assam Football Association Hemendra Nath Brahma today admitted that the city is shortlisted as one of the possible venue of the prestigious meet.

“Tournament Director of the Local Organising Committee Roma Khanna had recently sent a letter to the CM office in this regard. If Government gives green signal then FIFA World Cup will return into Guwahati once again,” said Brahma. It may be mentioned here that Guwahati was one of the venue of the U-17 World cup which was held in India in 2017.
