Guwahati Chess Academy: Chaarvi Choudhury clinches Rapid Chess Tournament title
GUWAHATI: Chaarvi Choudhury clinched the 18th edition of the Sunday Rapid Chess Tournament title held in the city today. The competition was organized by the Guwahati Chess Academy in its premises where 37 players took part.
Chaarvi remained unbeaten throughout the tournament and scored perfect 6 points from 6 rounds. Prakash Nath bagged second position by scoring 5 points from same number of rounds. Kamal Deka also scored 5 points but declared third on the basis of tie-break score. Himashree Deka was named best girl player of the tournament. She scored 4 points from 6 rounds.
The winners of other categories: U-7: Hreyansh Deka (3.5 points), U-9: Dhanyata Goswami (4 points). U-11: Neehar Das (4 points), U-13: Ayaan Bhartia (3 points). U-15: Pratyush (4 points).
