Guwahati players dominate in Inter-district Chess

Guwahati: Players of Guwahati dominated in the All Assam Inter District Chess Championship which was held in the city recently. Altogether 187 players from different districts took part in the tournament. Top two position holders in the meet will represent Assam in the forthcoming National Chess Championship for under-18, under-14 and under 12 age group.

Results: Under-18 boy's: Dhrupad Kashyap (Guwahati, champion), Ashvin Sharma (Guwahati, 2nd). U-18 girls: Prayashree Rajbongshi (Guwahati, champion), Susmita Bhowmick (Kamrup Rural, second). Under-14 Boys: Mayank Chakraborty (Guwahati, Champion), Abhash Ramya Saikia (Dibrugarh, second). Under-14 Girl's: Chaarvi Choudhury (Guwahati, Champion), Ikshita Barman (Guwahati, 2nd). Under-12 Boys: Mrinmoy Rajkhowa (Guwahati, champion), Tanmay Rajbongshi (Guwahati, 2nd). Under- 12 girls: Debarati Dey (Cachar, champion), Afsheen Afsha Zaman (Guwahati, second).
