Hailakandi DC Keerthi Jalli Pitches For Improved Sports Infrastructure

Hailakandi: The district administration took stock of the playgrounds, indoor facilities and other sports infrastructure.

Deputy Commissioner, Keerthi Jalli inspected the District Sports Association (DSA) stadium with officials of the administration, Sports and PWD departments in tow Tuesday. Jalli directed the officials of PWD (Buildings) to expedite the construction of the inordinately delayed gallery under NLCPR scheme and set October 30 as the deadline. The Deputy Commissioner interacted with the sportspersons and got first hand knowledge of the problems being faced by them.

Later at a meeting held at the DSA stadium, Deputy Commissioner Jalli asked the PWD (Buildings) to submit plan and estimate for improvement of DSA ground, renovation of the indoor stadium and cricket pitch against which the Directorate of Sports and Youth Welfare, Assam has allocated Rs.10 lakh.

The meeting was attended, among others, by President of DSA, Gautam Roy, Additional Deputy Commissioner, EL Faihraem and District Sports Officer, Jimli Borah.
