GUWAHATI: India Club, Silchar moved close to book a berth in the semi final in the 68th Bordoloi Trophy football championship here on Saturday. The side in the second group league game, held at the Judges Field, defeated ITBP by 3-2.

India Club played good football throughout the match and scored thrice through Dorjee Wangchu Khangro and V Vignesh (2). The match was 14 minutes old when India Club went ahead into the game through Dorjee Wangchu Khangro. The side doubled the score on 22nd minutes and this time V Vignesh found the not with a brilliant shot. Vignesh could make the scoreline 3-0 if he didn't waste a penalty which was awarded to India Club after the ball touched the hand of Rijul Narzary inside the box of ITBP in the 37th minute. A few minutes later it was Rijul who reduced the margin for ITBP.

Both sides scored one goal each in the second half. Vignesh got his second goal in the 55th minute while ITBP scored the other goal through Gyanjit Basumatary.

At Korora Delhi FC beat Assam Police Blues 2-0. Shillong Lajong FC in the other group match at Taikajhara (Chirang) beat ARC by a solitary goal. CISF shared points with Nagaland Police after the game ended 2-2 draw at Ghilakuri (Sipajhar).
