Jayanta Talukdar tests COVID positive

GUWAHATI: The international archer Jayanta Talukdar, who has tested COVID-19 positive, is now undergoing treatment in a hospital at Kalapahar. His oxygen level is low and is treated in the ICU. Talking to The Sentinel Ranjan Talukdar, the father of the archer, said, "Jayanta was admitted to hospital in the city a few days back after he was tested positive. However yesterday oxygen level was very low and he was shifted to ICU."

Jayanta, a recurve shooter, won an individual gold medal in the 2006 Archery World Cup and also bagged multiple medals in Asian Games and other international events. The archer also received Arjuna Award in 2006.
