Jigyashman Hazarika Bags Singles Title in OIL-AITA Tennis Tournament

GUWAHATI: Jigyashman Hazarika of Assam lifted the boys U-14 singles title in the OIL-AITA Super Series Tennis Tournament which concluded at the All Assam Tennis Association Complex, Chachal today. In the final Jigyashman defeated Rohan Agarwal of West Bengal in a grueling three-setter 6-4, 3-6, 6-0. In the boys, U-16 singles final 2nd seed Bushan Haobam of Manipur won the title by defeating 6th seed Rohan Agarwal of West Bengal 4-6, 6-0, 6-1. In a brief function, prizes were distributed by AATA Joint Secretary Digantajyoti Gogoi and Treasurer Swapnil Borthakur.

Final results (Singles): GIRLS U-16: Amodini Vijay Naik (KA) def Ira Shrenik Shah (MH) 2-6, 6-4, 6-2. BOYS U-16:Bushan Haobam (MN) def 6th seed Rohan Agarwal (WB). 4-6, 6-0, 6-1. BOYS U-14: Jigyashman Hazarika (AS) def Rohan Agarwal (WB). 6-4, 3-6, 6-0. GIRLS U-14: Shimreen Ahamed (WB) def Amodini Vijay Naik (KA). 7-5, 7-5.
