Lovlina Borgohain received cash incentives from OIL and NRL

GUWAHATI: Oil India Limited (OIL) and Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) jointly felicitated boxer Lovlina Borgohain for her medal winning performance in Tokyo Olympics. The function was held in a city hotel today.
Lovlina, participated in the women 59 kg category, finished third in the Games. It was the first occasion when an athlete from Assam won a medal in Olympics.
Today's felicitation function was attended by Union Minister of State for Petroleum etc Rameshwar Teli as the chief guest and several key officials from both the oil companies including SK Barua (Managing Director, NRL) and Harish Madhav (Director, Finance, OIL). Lovlina received cash reward of Rs 25 lakh each (after deducting tax) from OIL and NRL.
Addressing the gathering Teli said, " Lovlina made us proud with her brilliant performance in Tokyo. Hope she would bring more laurels for the country in the coming days."
The boxer today also participated in a glove-signing programme in the same function where she signed in a couple of boxing gloves. The oil companies would later distribute those gloves to the promising boxers of the state. Meanwhile, in a separate programme Pr. Commissioner of Income Tax, NER felicitated the boxer at Aaykar Bhawan in the city today. Lovlina attended the function, which was organized on the occasion of Azadi Ka Jan Utsav, with her father. Among others present in the function included Raju Tayeng, Chief Commissioner of Income Tax.
