GUWAHATI: Media Management and the ASJA made winning start in the TOPCEM-ASJA T20 Inter Media Cricket held at the Judges' Field here today. Media Management in the opening game of the day defeated Gauhati Press Club by three wickets while in the second game ASJA came better against Prasar Bharati by 38 runs.
The first day of the meet witnessed several scintillating performances from the players of different teams. In the morning Jatin Talukdar picked up the first hat-trick of the meet playing for Media Management. In the second tie Rajdeep Das (63) of the ASJA and Gautam Sharma (61 no) of Prasar Bharati played two attractive knocks for their teams. Both opened the innings in the match and contributed a half century each displaying some classy touch from their willows.
Earlier the championship was inaugurated by Dr Anil Kapoor, President (Sales & Marketing), Meghalaya Cements Ltd. The inaugural function was also attended by former Assam Ranji Team captain Syed Zakaria Zuffri, veteran sports journalists Pabitra Gogoi, veteran sports organizer Rajib Prakash Barua and Naba Basumatary, Assistant Director, Sports and Youth Welfare, Assam.
