GUWAHATI: She is an international boxer but love to spend some time in agricultural activities.
Lovlina Borgohain's interest in the agriculture field made the agriculture minister of the State Atul Bora very happy. He even directed Horticulture Department officials to provide Lovlina's family a Pulveriser, a Green House and a nursery to aid their farming efforts.
Bora made a visit to Golaghat district yesterday and during the tour minister also took out some time to go Lovlina's house to enquire her preparation for the Tokyo Olympic where he came to know about the youth boxer's interest in the field of agriculture.
In his twitter account Bora said, "Glad to know that besides her regular training at home she has been active in agriculture activities. I have directed Horticulture dept officials to provide Lovlina's family a Pulveriser, a Green House & a nursery to aid their farming efforts."
In a brief reaction Lovlina said, "It's an honour to meet our agriculture minister of the State. It was so generously diligent of him to take out time from his itinerary to travel all the way to check on my training during this crucial period. It means a lot."
Assam Amateur Boxing Association today thanked Bora for showing such a gesture. The secretary of the association Hemanta Kalita said, "It's nice to see that a minister had gone to a boxer's residence to enquire about her preparation for the Olympics. Minister also provided some help to Lovlina once he knew about boxer's interest in the field of agriculture. We have several boxers in the State who are seriously involved in agriculture activities. This attitude of minister will inspire them."
