North East Super Series 6 Begins Today at Gangtok

GUWAHATI: The first-ever edition of North East Super 6 soccer will begin tomorrow at Gangtok. Guwahati and Silchar will also be the two venues of the competition.

The six-a-side meet will be held in collaboration with ISL Club North East United FC (NEUFC) across the eight North East States. The meet is planned to provide a platform for budding footballers from small towns to demonstrate their skills and encourage audiences to witness football as a sport reach new horizons.

The former international footballer Renedy Singh today attended the launch function of the meet which was held in a city hotel. In a brief speech, Renedy said, “It’s a good platform to the young players of the North East to display their skill and create an opportunity for the future.”

The trophy and the jersey of the competition were also unveiled today in the same function.

The schedule (preliminary round): Oct 25-26: Gangtok. Nov 2-3: Itanagar and Agartala. Nov 8-9: Dimapur, Shillong, and Aizawl. Nov 15-16: Guwahati and Silchar
