Puducherry Beat Assam in Vijay Hazare Trophy Held at Shimoga

GUWAHATI: Assam faced another defeat in the Plate group of Vijay Hazare Trophy at Shimoga today, this time against Puducherry by 5 wickets. Invited to bat first, Assam could manage 115 in 36.1 overs by displaying another batting failure. Opener Pallavkumar Das was the highest scorer (27). Ashith Sanganakal picked 4 wickets for 17 while SS Kumar and Sagar Udeshi took 2 wickets each. Puducherry reached the small target in 22 overs losing 5 wickets. Paras Dogra scored 44. Pritam Das 2 wickets for 39.

With this result, Puducherry topped the Plate group with 32 points from 9 matches while Assam settled at the fourth spot with 24 points.
