GUWAHATI: Despite a shaky start to their first innings, Chhattisgarh posted a formidable total of 327 against Assam in the opening Group B match of the Ranji Trophy in Raipur.
Captain Amandeep Khare led fron the front, scoring a fighting 112 from 218 balls before being bowled out by Mrinmoy Dutta. Shashank Singh contributed rapid 82 runs off 107 balls while Ashutosh Singh made valuable 58 off 152 balls. For Assam, Mukhtar Hussain, Mrinmoy Dutta, Akash Sengupta, Rahul Singh and Kunal Sarma took two wickets each.
In reply, Assam managed 87 runs in 51 overs losing 4 wickets at stumps of Day 2. Denish Das (29) was at the crease with Bishal Roy (1).
