Shillong Lajong’s unbeaten run continues in Meghalaya State League

Shillong: Shillong Lajong continued their unbeaten run in Meghalaya State League as they beat Royal FC of Sohra by 4-0 at the Kiang Nangbah Stadium in Jowai on Thursday.

It was a dominating performance by the Lajong youngsters having the majority of the possession in the entire game.

They earned a early penalty which was converted by captain Kenstar Kharshong in 11th minute. They kept pressing forward but were unlucky not to score more goals in the first half.

In the second half, Lajong were awarded a penalty again and Kenstar made no mistake in putting it past the keeper again in the 54th minute.

The opponents only had a handful of opportunities to attack but were unsuccessful. In the 70th minute, Freestar Kharbyngar scored from open play to give Lajong a 3-0 lead. Kenstar eventually scored the hat trick in the 72nd minute from inside the box.

Lajong had plenty more chances but were denied. The match ended 4-0 in favour of Lajong.

The Reds will play next Umkynsier YSCO on December 9 at the Kiang Nangbah Stadium.
