GUWAHATI: Suzein Ahmed clinched the title in Guwahati Chess Academy Young Masters Online Rapid Chess Tournament held recently. The tournament was organized by Guwahati Chess Academy among the players below 15 years of age. Suzein scored 5 points from 6 rounds to clinch the title. ShuvangPran Kashyap and Chaarvi Choudhury also scored same number of points but they were declared joint second on the basis of tie-break score.
Unmilita Pathak adjudged as the best girl player in the meet. She scored 4 points. In under 7 category Siddharth Singh, scored 3 points, finished first. In under 9 category Jayraj Barman got first position with 4 points. In under 11 category ShardoolWagh bagged first spot by scoring 4 points while in the under 13 category Nalinakhya Kashyap took the top spot with 4 points. Chiranjib Goswami also collected 4 points but he was declared second on the basis of tie-break score. Altogether 35 players participated in the tournament which was held in Swiss League system for 6 rounds.
