GUWAHATI: Tanmay Rajbongshi became the youngest Champion in the Guwahati Chess Championship which concluded at South Point School in the city today. In the 6th and final round the 13-year old Tanmay drew his games against Chaarvi Choudury. He scored 5.5 points from 6 rounds and remained unbeaten throughout the tournament. Ashvin Sharma got second position by scoring 5 points from 6 rounds. Top four players Tanmay Rajbongshi, Ashvin Sharma, Chaarvi Choudhury and Nihad Islam Hazarika are selected to represent Guwahati in forthcoming All Assam Inter District Chess Championship to be held in Morigaon.

Other winners: Under-7 category: Parthiv Sankarsana. Under-9 category: Rajat Bafna. Under- 11 category: Abhirup Saikia Under-13 category: Himanish Kumar Sarma.
