The 37th edition of body building and weight lifting competition held in Sonitpur, Assam

The program was started on Saturday and today is the 4th day of the event. Several competitions such as bodybuilding, weight lifting, yoga, tug-of-war are being organized in Balipara, Sonitpur district of Assam.

The event has seen a good response with a large number of youths participating in each of these events.

The competitions are being held at the district level with an eye that the youth get well trained to participate in state and national level events. Several players who had participated in the national level and Khelo India events were also seen in action at the sporting event.

A member of the games committee said," This is the fourth day of the event and today wrestling and tug-of-war has been held. All the players made us feel very happy and proud of their performances. We hope more players from Balipara will come forward in the future and would make this area of Sonitpur district proud. Players will be selected for the state-level competitions from this event."
