Top Seed Bows out in 3rd Day of OIL–AITA Tennis Tournament

GUWAHATI: The third day of OIL – AITA Super Series Tennis Tournament at Chachal tennis complex witnessed several upsets in the girls U-16 pre-quarter-finals and one upset in the girls U-14 quarter-finals. In the girls U-14 quarter-finals unseeded Irs Shrenik Shah of Maharashtra caused a major upset by defeating 6th seed Jiniffer Chacko of Karnataka in straight sets 6-1, 6-1 to reach into the semi-finals. Earlier in the girls U-16 pre-quarter-finals, Ms. Shah ousted top seed Shirmreen Ahamed of West Bengal in straight sets 6-2, 6-1.
