Unseeded Laxmi Dandu upsets Diva Bhatia in ITF Junior Tennis Tournament at AATA complex

GUWAHATI: Unseeded Laxmi Dandu of India caused a major upset by defeating 6th seed Diva Bhatia, also from India, in straight sets 6-4, 6-4 in the ITF Junior Tennis Tournament at the AATA complex in the city today. All other seeded players in the girl’s singles event and boys’ singles reached the pre-quarter final stage. Meanwhile wild card entrant Antariksh Tamuly of Assam bowed out of the tournament in the first round. He lost to Praneel Sharma 2-6, 4-6.
