GUWAHATI: The Annual Award of the Veteran Cricket Association of Assam (VCAA) was held in a city hotel last night. Former Test cricketer and General Manager (Operation) BCCI Syed Saba Karim attend the function as a chief guest. Queen Oja, MP of Guwahati constituency, also attended the function as Guest of Honour along with other dignitaries.

Every year VCAA organized the award function to mark its Foundation Day. In a brief speech in the function Saba Karim shared many incidents on his playing days. He also praised VCAA for honouring the former and present cricketers.

This year VCAA Life Time Achievement Award was received by former fearsome pacer Munna Kakati. The award, which carries Rs 30,000 along with memento, was handed over to Kakoti by Saba Karim.

Cricketer of the Year: Mukhtar Hussain. Special Appreciation Award: Priya Lal Das. Cricket coach: Gautam Hazarika. Sports organizer: Rupkamal Kakaty.
