Veteran sports organizer Dulal Basumatari passes away

GUWAHATI: Former footballer and veteran sports organizer Dulal Basumatari passed away at Raha after prolonged illness. He was 67. During his early days football was his passion and after quitting the game he was associated with soccer refereeing and also earned national referee badge. Later Basumatari turned up as sports organizer and played an active role to develop different games like archery and Kabaddi. He was also the vice president of Assam Archery Association and Assam Kabaddi Association. The president and the secretary of the Assam Football Association-Naba Kumar Doley and Hemendra Nath Brahma- mourned the death of Basumatary.
