Vijay Hazare Tournament Assam win by 5 wickets

GUWAHATI: Assam won their second matches in the Vijay Hazare Cricket tournament defeating Arunachal Pradesh by five wickets in Chennai today.

Invited to bat Arunachal Pradesh, rode an unbeaten century from Rahul Dalal (123, 121 balls, 4X12, 6X12), scored 222-7 in their 50 overs. Amlanjyoti Das (2-29) came out with best performance among the bowlers of Assam.

Assam didn't face too much trouble to chase the target after both the openers-Pallav Kumar Das and Denish Das- gave good start adding 62 runs on the first wicket. Denish (59, 4X8) and Sibsankar (60 (4X6, 6X1) scored half century in the match. Saahil Jain (48, 4X3) was the other batsman who contributed good score on the board. Saahil and Sibsankar on the fourth wicket partnership added 103 runs. Assam reached the target in 36.4 overs losing five wickets.

Assam collected four points from the game and are now top of the points table with 8 points. In the next match they will face Nagaland on Thursday.
