GUWAHATI: A two-day seminar on WAKO North East Body meet and National Referee Seminar, organized by the Amateur Kickboxing Association, concluded at the Bhogeswari Phukanani Indoor Stadium today.
The referee seminar was preceded by Santosh Kr Agrawal, President – WAKO India Kickboxing Federation and Prashanta Saikia, President of AKAA.
Forty participants representing Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya and Tripura attended the seminar. This seminar was conducted with a motive to strengthen Kickboxing sports in the North East.
Santosh Kumar Agrawal, while briefing the media today said, “WAKO India is planning to start training schools in eight states of North East including Sikkim to encourage the potential of upcoming Northeastern players so that they can take part in various National and International Tournaments”.
He also added “We are also expecting good number of participants from the North-East in the upcoming WAKO India National Cadets and Juniors Kickboxing Championship scheduled to be held at Telengana”.
Agrawal also said that five players from the North-East will be participating in the Senior World Kickboxing Championship 2019 to be held at Bosnia.
