COLOMBO: A 135-ball 121 from Janneman Malan and Tabraiz Shamsi's five-wicket haul helped South Africa register a 67-run victory over Sri Lanka to level the three-match One-day International series 1-1 and log 10 World Cup Super League points here.
Shamsi took the wind out of the hosts' sails with wickets in the middle overs as the South African came up with figures of 5/49 as Sri Lanka were bundled out for 197 in 36.4 overs, chasing a revised target of 265 from 41 overs under D/L Method on Saturday night.
Earlier, the start of the match was delayed due to rain by an hour and a half. South Africa's stand-in captain, Keshav Maharaj, won the toss and elected to bat with left-arm spinner George Linde making his ODI debut for the visitors. South Africa managed 283/6 in the allotted 47 overs.
