Manipur's Likmabam Sushila Devi to participate in Budapest Grand Slam 2020

Likmabam Sushila Devi, who hails from the state of Manipur is among the five selected judokas who will represent India in Budapest Grand Slam 2020 to be held in Hungary.

An Indian Judoka, she has won the silver medal in women's 48 kg weight class in Judo, in the Commonwealth Games of 2014, held at Glasgow.

The five judokas include two women and three men. They are Manipur's 25-years old Likmabam Sushila Devi (48 kg) and Delhi's 22-years-old Tulika Mann (78 kg) in the women's teams. The men's team compromises of 28-years-old Avtar Singh (100 kg), 22-years-old Jasleen Singh Saini (66 kg), and 24-years-old Vijay Yadav (60 kg).

The entire cost of the trip will be borne by the government, said the Sports Authority of India (SAI). The players will be accompanied by coach Jiwan Sharma.

The judokas have to produce two individual COVID-19 negative medical certificates when they arrive at the place of the competition. The Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests to be made a maximum of 5 days before the arrival, and both the test should be 48-hours apart.

Around 645 competitors from 81 countries will participate in this event in Hungary.
