Paralympic Association of Assam (PAA) felicitates Para Athletes

GUWAHATI: Paralympic Association of Assam (PAA) felicitated its International para athletes and medal winners during their Annual General Meeting which was held in the city yesterday. The athletes who were felicitated in the function were Chiranajita Bharali (Silver Medal at Para Badminton Asian Championships) and Biswajit Ray (participated in the World Para Taekwondo Championship). General Secretary of the organization Rajib Dey handed over a cheque of Rs 11,000 to Chiranjita Bharali for her medal winning performance.

Meanwhile representatives from 19 districts took part in the Annual General Meeting which was held yesterday. In the meeting it was decided to take necessary step to produce para athlete from the state who can represent Indian Team for the upcoming Para Asian Games 2022. The meeting also decided to uplift the para sports and athletes of the various districts by providing training and equipment.
