Richa Mishra Picks Up Gold

GUWAHATI: Seasoned swimmer Richa Mishra picked up her second medal, this time gold, in the 75th Senior National Aquatic Championship held at the Zakir Hussain Aquatic complex here today. Richa bagged the medal in the women's 400mtr medley clocking 5:12.48. Shrungi Rajesh Bandeka of Goa and Disha Bhandari from Uttar Pradesh collected silver and bronze respectively in this event.

Olympian Maana Patel today comfortably picked up the gold medal in the women's 200m backstroke with a time of 2:20.09.Palak Joshi and Pratishtha Dangi, both from Maharashtra, finished second and third. Utkarsh Santhosh Patil, Siva, both from Karnataka and Tanmay das of RSPB finished first, second and third in the men's category. It was the second medal for Siva in the meet.

In the Men, 1500m Freestyle Aneesh S Gowda of Karnataka finished first with a time of 16:08.84. He was followed by Sushrut Suryakant Kapse of RSPB (silver) and Anurag R. Singh of Uttar Pradesh (bronze).
