LONDON: Serena Williams will return to Wimbledon after a 12-month long break since her last competitive appearance while Stan Wawrinka will compete the event for the first time since 2019 after receiving wild cards, the tournament organizers announced on Tuesday.
"The stage awaits.Our 7-time champion @serenawilliams will return to Wimbledon as a wild card this summer for her 21st appearance," said Wimbledon in a tweet.
The 37-year-old Stan Wawrinka recently returned after undergoing two left foot surgeries last year. Agencies
