ODENSE: World no 2 Viktor Axelsen of Denmark won the Denmark Open men's singles title here on Sunday by defeating world no 1 Kento Momota of Japan 20-22, 21-18, 21-12 in the final.

Earlier, Japan's Akane Yamaguchi lifted the women's singles title as her opponent An Se-young of South Korea retired when the score was 18-21, 25-23, 16-5 in the title clash.

Chinese shuttlers Huang Dongping and Zheng Yu overpowered South Korean pair Lee Sohee and Shin Seungchan 21-15, 21-17 in the women's doubles final.

Fourth-seeded Yuta Watanabe/Arisa Higashino from Japan beat Dechapol Puavaranukroh/Sapsiree Taerattanachai 21-18, 21-9 to win Mixed doubles title.

Takuro Hoki and Yago Kabayashi of Japan won the Men's doubles title by defeating Kim Astrup and Andres Rasmussen 21-18, 21-12. Agencies
