On November 5th, India defeated Kyle Coetzer-led Scotland by eight wickets in Dubai and reached the third place in the points table in Group 2. As the men in blue won the match with 81 balls left to play, it helped them to achieve good run rate over Afghanistan and New Zealand.

England, Australia, South Africa from Group 1 and New Zealand, India, Afghanistan from Group 2 are fighting for a place in the semi-finals. Eoin Morgan- led, the England team is sure to reach the semi-finals. England has a net run rate of 3.183 and is at the top of Group 1 with 8 points.

At the same time, in Group 2, Babar Azam-led Pakistan is the only team to officially qualify for the next round after winning their first four matches.

India's next match in Dubai International Cricket will be on Monday 8 November against Namibia. A loss would take the team out, although even a win would not assure them a berth in the semi-finals. India will have to beat Namibia to qualify for the semi-finals and Afghanistan will also have to hope to overtake the Kiwis.

After that, the probable table-toppers of Group 1 are most likely to face England. South Africa and Australia will each face Pakistan in the second semi-final. Sri Lanka, West Indies, Bangladesh, Namibia and Scotland are the teams that have already been eliminated from the tournament.
