Chennai: Two-time Asian gold medalist Hima Das grabbed a gold medal in the women's 100m for the second time in two days at the National Inter-State Athletics Championships 2022 here on Saturday.

Das clocked 11.43s in the 100m and beat Dutee Chand, who finished second in 11.44s while competing at the Jawarharlal Nehru Stadium.

Dhanalakhsmi Sekar, who achieved 11.26s in Turkey last week skipped the 100m race.

"Happy to make a comeback after an injury and hard work of nearly 2 years. Looking forward to giving my best in the circuit in the upcoming events. Thank you everyone for your love and blessings. #comeback", she tweeted.

Meanwhile, Indian female shot put athlete Manpreet Kaur has made a comeback after the ban and broke her own national record on the second day of the National Inter-Provincial Senior Athletics Championships.

Assam's Amlan Borgohain won the sprint race in the men's categories.

Srabani Nanda of Odisha stood third while Borgohain clocked 10.47 seconds in the 100 meters. Tamil Nadu's Elakiadasan placed in the second position and Punjab's Harjit Singh came third.
