Edgbaston: Veteran England pace bowler Katherine Brunt and young Issy Wong grabbed two wickets each as the hosts destroyed New Zealand's batting order and then scored a massive seven-wicket win in their Group B match of the Commonwealth Games Women's T20 tournament here. The victory means the hosts will take on India in the semifinal, while the other last-four clash pits Australia against trans-Tasman rivals New Zealand.

Brief scores: New Zealand Women 71/9 in 20 overs (Katherine Brunt 2/4, Issy Wong 2/10, Sarah Glenn 2/13) lost to England Women 72/3 in 11.4 overs (Sophia Dunkley 19, Alice Capsey 23, Amy Jones 18 not out) by seven wickets.
