IND vs SL: ODI series in India is a very good preparation for World Cup, says Sri Lanka captain Dasun Shanaka

GUWAHATI: The captain of Sri Lanka cricket team Dasun Shanaka said that the three-match ODI series against India will be a good preparation for his team for the next World Cup which India will host later in the year.

Attending a pre match press conference at the ACA stadium, Barsapara, the visiting captain said, "It's an important series for Sri Lanka because the World Cup is going to be held in the same condition. So you can say I'm looking forward to this series as it will give us a good opportunity for the preparation of the World Cup."

Meanwhile Shanaka today added that his team needed to play good and competitive cricket to beat India in the series. "None of the teams in the recent past, except South Africa, have won in India. Even we gave a good fight in Mumbai but they came strongly. We need to play competitive cricket." said Shanaka.

Meanwhile the Sri Lankan skipper felt that the wicket at the ACA Stadium is very good and it could be a high scoring match on Tuesday.
