GUWAHATI: The first international battle for the Indian Men's Cricket team is now underway in Guwahati. Sri Lanka won the toss and put India to bat first.

The match started at 1:30 PM on Tuesday with captain Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill as openers for India and Kasun Rajitha with the ball for Sri Lanka.

The following is the playing eleven for Sri Lanka under the captaincy of Dasun Shanaka. Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Mendis(wicket-keeper), Avishka Fernando, Dhananjaya de Silva, Charith Asalanka, Dasun Shanaka, Wanindu Hasaranga, Chamika Karunaratne, Dunith Wellalage, Kasun Rajitha and Dilshan Madushanka.

And the Indian playing eleven under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma are Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul(wicket-keeper), Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Mohammed Shami, Umran Malik, Mohammed Siraj and Yuzvendra Chahal.

India came to the pitch with a flying start, managing boundary after boundary. They have scored 59 runs in 7 overs without the loss of any wicket till the time of this report.

Experts have commented it is a batting pitch with a very fast outfield. Thus expectations are that it will be a high-scoring match. But with the dew coming to play later in the evening, it will be a match worth watching.

Rohit Sharma's 50 came up in the 13th over. Scored 52 runs in 41 balls.

The hundred came up for India in the fifteenth over.

Shubman Gill's half-century came in the 18th over. Scored 50 runs out of 51 balls.

Sumal Gill was out LBW to Shanaka Dasun at the score of 70 in 60 balls. Virat Kohli replaced him on the crease.

India's 150 came in the 21st over. the first one took 40 balls, second in 49 and the third in just 36.

Rohit Sharma was played on by a ball by Dilshan Madushanka with a score of 83 out of 67 deliveries. India scored 173 at the loss of 2 wickets in the 24th over.

Sheryas Iyer who replaced Rohit Sharma managed to score 28 runs of 24 balls before getting caught by Avishka Fernando on a ball of Dhananjaya. K L Rahul replaces Shreyas Iyer.

Virat Kohli reached his 65th half-century in 47 balls in the 36th over.

India reached 303 runs in the 41st over and the very next ball knocks the bails off K L Rahul's wicket. He scored 39 from 29 balls and Hardik Pandiya replaces him at the crease. 

India reached its first 100 in 83 balls, second in 79 and third in another 82 balls.

Hardik Pandiya was out caught by Wanindu Hasaranga on the bowling of Kasun Rajitha at the score of 14 out of 12 deliveries. Axar Patel takes the place of Hardik Pandiya in the centre of the ground.

Virat Kohli scores his 73rd international 100 in 80 balls in the 47th over of the match. Also, India's 350 comes up in 46.4 overs.

Axar Patel was caught by Avishka Fernando on a ball by Karunaratne after he scored 9 runs out of 9 balls.

Virat Kohli's brilliant 113 knock of 87 balls comes to an end as he was caught by Kusal Mendis on a ball of Kasun Rajitha in the 48th over. Mohammed Siraj replaces Virat Kohli 364 for the loss of seven wickets.

India finally finishes their stipulated 50 overs with a score of 373 with the loss of seven wickets. Sri Lanka has the target of 374 in their 50 overs.
