ITANAGAR: Former Indian Cricketer Yusuf Pathan launched a branch of Cricket Academy of Pathans (CAP) to provide world-class cricket coaching and to promote young talent in the north eastern region at Delhi Public School, Jollang near here on Friday. The programme was also attended by Managing Director (CAP) Harmeet Vasdev.

Speaking to the reporters, Yusuf Pathan, who is also the director of CAP said that the academy will provide every possible help to the aspiring cricketers and expect to become the first preference for all the ambitious and aspirant cricketers in Itanagar and surrounding region.

He said by the world-class coaching in the academy, the students are now getting selected for the district and state level matches. Across India, more than 80 students have already been selected and represented at various state and district levels from CAP centers.

"We have plans to open more academies in tier 2 and tier 3 cities which will assist the budding cricketers to get trained in the right manner. In the ongoing Ranji Trophy, one of our players, Yashasvi Rishav from CAP, Patna who is representing Bihar State team, has scored a brilliant hundred", he said.

He said the academy is proud of the increasing number of students being selected for various district and state level camps. These success stories are indeed an indication of our commitment to help our students realize their potential, he added.

Meanwhile, CAP Managing Director, Harmeet Vasdev explained the training process and highlighted the strong points which have helped the academy become one of the leading cricket academies in the country.

He said to record and track the progress of CAP students, an in-house 'CAP App' is developed. It also helps coaches to organize training and coaching sessions with the students. Very soon, CAP will be organizing an interactive session with the Pathan brothers for our students through the app.

"We want to help as many cricket aspirants as possible to give them an opportunity who love the sport and need access to world-class coaching infrastructure," he said.

He further added that CAP is also planning tours to other countries for giving match exposure under different environments to the young buds. It also plans to organize an all India CAP tournament where every CAP centre will participate.

"The academy also focuses on nutrition, psychology and the overall physical development of the students. We are aiming to launch 20 more academies in different cities of the country, for which CAP have pledged to invest Rs 2 crores towards it," he said, adding that the CAP aims to become the preferred academy for cricket coaching across the country.
