JAMUGURIHAT: The Chidanand Bora and Abani Prasad Bora Memorial Prize Money Football Tournament is now underway. The tournament is being organised by the Tupiya Pachgaon Sports Club. The Jaluguti Football Club came out victorious in the first Semi Final match with a 5-4 score.

The first semi-final match of the tournament was organised on Monday. The enthusiasts got to see the skills of two foreign players as well in this match. The Jaluguti Football Club of Morigaon district faced the Monabari Tea Garden Football Club from Biswanath in this match. It can be noted that both the teams were equally matched and came to a 1-1 tie score at the end of the stipulated time.

In the tie-breaker that followed, the Jaluguti Football Club was able to beat the Monabari Tea Garden Football Club in the tiebreakers and entered the finals of the match. The second semi-final will be played between the Goreshwar Football Club and the Harisinga Anchalik Football Club in the mini stadium of the organisation. The organisers welcomed the local people to come in large numbers and enjoy the second semi-final as well as the final.

Recently the Assam Football Association (AFA) invited Expression of Interest (EOI) from football clubs of the State for the Assam State Premier League 2023. Eight football clubs will participate in the championship. In a release, Assam Football Association today informed the media that AFA had invited Expression of Interest (EOI) from football clubs who are interested to participate in the championship. Interested clubs may offer their Expression of Interest in writing along with Demand Draft of Rs 2 lakh.

Also the Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF) emerged champion in the 34th All India RPF Judo Champion-ship2023 that concluded at NFRSA stadium, Maligaon on Saturday. RPSF altogether won 13 medals (3gold, 7silver and 3 bronze). NR finished second with 4 gold and 4 bronze. 33 players from Northern Railway, North East Railway, Eastern Railway, North West Railway, RPSF, Central Railway and Western Railway took part in the competition.
