MELBOURNE, Jan 19: Veteran Indian players Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna were eliminated in the opening round of the women's doubles and men's doubles, respectively, at the Australian Open, here on Wednesday. The 35-year-old Mirza and her Ukrainian partner Nadiia Kichenok, seeded 12th, lost 4-6, 6-7 to the unseeded Slovenian pair of Kaja Juvan and Tamara Zidansek in one hour and 36 minutes. Meanwhile, Rohan Bopanna and Frenchman Edouard Roger-Vasselin lost 6-3, 6-7, 2-6 to the Filipino-Indonesian pair of Treat Huey and Christopher Rungkat in the men's doubles.
