Assam COVID-19 positive cases reach to 59

GUWAHATI:Assam on Friday recorded five more new COVID-19 positive cases taking the toll to 59. Five persons who returned to Silchar in Cachar district from Ajmer in Rajasthan tested positive. Earlier four persons who also returned to Silchar from Rajasthan were found COVD positive. Out of 56 COVID patients one died and 34 were discharged from hospitals after their test reports showed negative. At present 23 corona patients are undergoing treatment. On March 31, Assam recorded its first COVID case with a 52-year-old man from Karimganj district with Nizamuddin travel history tested positive for the virus.
