GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has appealed to ULFA-I (United Liberation Front of Assam-Independent) to come forward for peace parleys.
Replying to a query from the media at Sarthebari on Monday, Sonowal said, “We welcome the peace talks. We welcome Paresh Baruah as well, and appeal to him to come forward for peace talks. Let’s create together an ambiance of peace in the State.”
“The ULFA has a big responsibility towards the State and its people. I appeal to the ULFA to take part in the peace process. The government is ready to take forward the peace initiative with dignity.”
