Golaghat Congress worker found dead

Golaghat, March 28: The recovery of the body of a Congress party worker on Monday has created sensation in Golaghat. Family members of the deceased alleged it to be a political killing. According to reports, Jitul Neog from Balijan under Golaghat LAC went missing from Sunday night. Neog’s body was today recovered near Oating railway crossing. His family member said Neog, after having dinner on Sunday night, had gone out to lock the gate of his house. He was not seen afterwards. Jitul’s family members alleged that it was a planned political murder. They also alleged that the killers called him on phone and asked him to come out of his residence. “Probably, he was abducted after that,” they said. Golaghat MLA and State cabinet minister Ajanta Neog visited Jitul Neog’s residence today and expressed deep condolences to his family members. She sought a high-level probe into the matter. The police have started investigation.
