Are you a permanent resident of Assam in the age group of 60-70 (for males) or 58-70 (for females) with less than Rs 2.5 lakh annual income? If so, you’re at liberty to avail the pilgrimage facilities under the Punyadham Yatra Scheme of the Department of Tourism, Assam. The pilgrimage facility under this scheme, which has entered the third year, is free of cost.
Senior citizens willing to avail this facility will have to send individually their applications that should reach the Director of Assam Tourism Development Corporation, Fourth Floor, AK Azad Road, Rehabari, Guwahati – 781008 before December 15, 2019. The application should have documents supporting age proofs, Aadhaar cards, voter IDs, PAN cards, passport-size photos, fitness certificates etc.
This year seven routes have been chosen under this scheme. The routes are – (i) Guwahati-Jagannath Puri, (ii) Guwahati-Mathura-Vrindavan, (iii) Guwahati-Ajmer, (iv) Guwahati-Jammu- Vaishnudevi, (v) Guwahati-Goya, (vi) Guwahati-Amritsar and (vii) Guwahati-Ranchi.
