Information About How to Extend Tourists’ stay
Published on

If you’re a tourist to India, the duration of your stay in India is six months or 180 days on each of your visit. The validity of the visa begins from the day it is issued to the last day of the sixth month. Extension of the visa is not approved for tourists’ visa, except on some special circumstances such as medical emergencies, accidents or loss of important documents like your passport, and so on. For the extension of the tourists’ visa under any of such special circumstances, you need to get in touch with the Foreigners’ Regional Registration Office (FRRO).

You need to apply to the Ministry of Home Affairs’ website mha.gov.in. All required documents are mentioned in the form online. The authority will give you an extension of 14 days.

For more details you need to contact the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi and the Embassy of your country to India.
