Sahitya Academy award to Bipul Deuri

Guwahati, March 9: Assamese writer Bipul Deuri has been selected for the prestigious Sahitya Academy (translation) award for his Assamese translation of Amish Tripathi's 'The Immortals of Meluha'. Born in Sadiya in 1957, Deuri is a post graduate from Gauhati University. His first translation work was published in 2009. He is a senior officer of the taxation department of Assam government.
